What is The 3.0 Exchange?

Last month, Dan Jones wrote about The 3.0 Exchange. Check it out here if you missed it. This project has just started taking off in the Flipped Learning (FL) community.  This site is akin to Teachers Pay Teachers, but solely dedicated to Flipped Learning. There is nowhere else you will find ready-to-go lessons that are aligned to the Global Elements of Effective Flipped Learning. Nowhere else will you find high-quality FL resources created by FL Level I and Level II certified educators.

A new review column

I’m so excited to announce that I will be writing a new column for FLR! The good news: The launch of the 3.0 Exchange will soon make available tons of useful resources for educators from all over the world! The bad news: You may not have the time to look through all of them to find what you need. This column will (hopefully) help you maximize your time and hit the ground running!

Some updates

Over the last several weeks, Errol St. Clair Smith has been meeting with educators from across the community to get their input on whether the 3.0 Exchange is worthy of the effort. All agreed that it is. More importantly, we have an interesting group who have signed on to lead special projects.

Here are two examples:

    • Five educators have signed on to lead the development of a medical resources channel for use in fields like nursing, pharmacology, paramedics, and anesthesiology. In their first meeting, they shared stories that reinforce the need, the value, and the viability of creating a channel on 3.0 Exchange for flipping medical training. They are excited and ready to run.
    • The Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning at Pepperdine University has signed on to help build resources that can be shared with CTLs around the world. Just having a university partner is significant because this will expose more faculty to high-quality Flipped Learning instructional support.

The site and the format is coming together well. The plan is to invite the FLGI community to subscribe so that they can get email updates of the newest *free resources* that have been added along with my reviews of the resources that support the theme of each month’s FLR.
