What does the Global Standards Project mean to you? | What does the Global Standards Project mean to you? |
It means there are people from all over the world who are dedicated to creating a meaningful resource for all practitioners of Flipped Learning. It’s about identifying the essentials and best practices of Flipped Learning to ensure the highest quality implementation. Right now, we are still working with different interpretations of Flipped Learning. It’s not just about students viewing lectures in the individual space (online) and all students doing the same activity/assignment in the group space (classroom). That is so ten years ago (FL 1.0)! I believe we will see not only an elevation in the implementation quality but also an increase in the learning outcomes for students. Practitioners will achieve excellence by adhering to the global standards. | Many people only have a partial understanding of what Flipped Learning is and how it works. Additionally, there are many well-intentioned Flipped Learning practitioners who have not kept abreast of the developments in Flipped Learning worldwide. The Global Standards Project is intended to clear up misconceptions, as well as educate Flipped Learning practitioners so that they can elevate their practice of teaching. It is all about giving teachers the tools they need to be able to reach every student, in every classroom, every day. As a teacher, there are curriculum standards that must be taught. These standards guide teachers through the content they have to teach. Flipped Learning Global Standards will help guide teachers with the framework they need to implement Flipped Learning successfully in their classrooms. The reason we all do what we do is to give our students the very best education we can. |
How do you feel your role as a faculty member has impacted Flipped Learning? | How do you feel your role as a faculty member has impacted Flipped Learning? |
I’m not sure how much impact I have had. We (the Faculty) have been eating, sleeping, and breathing FLGI (Flipped Learning Global Initiative) for several months now, but we mostly only interact with other Faculty or active FLGI members. I would love to hear from ”outsiders” regarding how our work is supporting their Flipped Learning practice. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? | I like to think that I have impacted Flipped Learning by sharing my experiences as a teacher, especially with special education students. I like to share my strategies and successes with other teachers and encourage them to view Flipped Learning as the meta-strategy that enables all other strategies to achieve success in our common goal of reaching every student, every day, in every class. |
